Old Jet Airplane
It could go any day now.
Any flight could be its last.
It cannot be repaired…
it’s just old.
The sound of its rivets rattling
is the sound of tambourines.
It was well made.
Its pilot put his trust into it.
He loved living dangerously.
Suddenly, a gust of wind took it higher
than ever it had been.
Good day, sunshine,
you never effing know.
If I seem to act unkind,
it’s only me, it’s not my mind
that is confusing things…
it’s only me, it’s not my mind
it’s only me, it’s not my mind
that is confusing things…
coming in for a landing.
