Even Gymnasts Don’t Score That Many Tens

Even Bruce Jenner, the greatest athlete,

had to change his sex because he wasn’t 

getting enough attention.

Even Grant, after all his victories, had to

write a best seller to survive.

They call it a pinnacle because, when you

get there, mountain or otherwise, there’s 

not much room for anyone else, and

it’s always downhill from there.

That’s not negative, (is that a positive?)

because it simply is what is.

Acceptance happens, usually, whether

we like it or not.

What’s the point, the benefit, of going,

screaming, into death?

You lose your lover, then you stalk her?

Sounds like you lost more than a lover.

What else is new?

Nothing under the sun.

That’s the point of listening to anyone 

who has lived a life and has good stories.

The end has yet to come.
