Life Is An Illusion
Where were you before you were born?
Where will you go after you die?
People want to go to Heaven, but that’s
just wishful thinking no more real than
“I want a hamburger for lunch.”
The hamburger is much more likely.
Are you the same person you were
when you were 3
when you were 30
when you were 77?
We grow into the illusion as we grow up.
It seems real because it’s familiar.
Donald Trump’s illusion is not the same
as Ted Bundy’s
as your neighbor’s
as Kim Jong Il’s,
as a Hopi elder’s.
We don’t agree because we don’t see
the same thing….Rashomon.
Some see more clearly than others,
but we all rely on the senses and how
our brains function.
Our brains come together in the womb,
rot in the grave…nothing permanent there.
If we really existed, we’d be permanent.
Even the universe is not permanent.
Even the universe is an illusion.
It’s hard to swallow and we really don’t
want to think about it because we want certainty.
Certainty is the illusion that the illusion is real.
Karma is real because laws form the illusion in
certain ways…causes and conditions have logic.
A mirage forms because of causes and conditions,
but it remains an illusion.
Life is a mirage.
