Ode To Jack Convery

Jack, dear friend and brother, took on Japan

the way Trungpa took on the USA, became

a gringo high ranking chado teacher in 

xenophobic Japan, helped build meditation 

centers for our teacher like me, taught 

carpentry to children in Vermont. 

Oh, Jack, dear Jack, a Jack of a few trades,

master of his mind, his goodness obvious

to everyone, loved by his students and friends,

accomplished what he set out to do in a world

full of indifference, an example that will echo

down time.
