On The Water

“Living in the world:

Floating on the waves of the lake.” Basho

A little seasick this morning fading into

riding the waves no problem nothing next

but endless seas water and air fluid movement

even at my desk on solid ground in my house

because even matter is waves words are waves

time is waves hello goodbye coming and going

as if it was yesterday sometimes it is the overlap

because time is not linear folds back on itself at

times like the clay tablets that say the same 

things over and over nothing new under the sun

is that wave the same as the last one?
