Buddha's Tooth
The ship no longer waits on land
no longer floats on water
wafts in the air on a breeze of delight
sails in our dreams in the night.
We have crossed the ocean,
watch as the ship, our transport,
goes back to the other shore
for more to travel on the same
journey.
Buddha's tooth has fallen out.
Only an empty space
where once was a smile.
