Waiting For UFO (Godot)
I called UFOs three nights in a row,
flashing my light into the sky.
They came, five orbs as big as globe
lightbulbs, in a row, even spaced,
floating in the air about thirty feet
away outside my bedroom window,
just before I fell asleep.
All I know is that they were something
that should not have been there, didn’t
belong there, not of this world.
I froze in bed until they floated away
over my house.
I got what I asked for, but then it was
just too weird.
Imagine a UFO landing on the White
House lawn….The Day The Earth Stood
Still doesn’t come close to the reaction
that would happen.
People get kerfuffled about trivialities;
the marriage of Taylor Swift,
hyperbolic posts on X.
Imagine the panic if the world discovered
everything we know is wrong.
Everything we know is wrong.
