Thanksgiving
Tomorrow a nice feast.
Today waiting to get up.
No change of seasons in Mexico.
Only the Jacarandas in January
coming to bloom with lavender flowers
mark the time.
I’m very thankful I haven’t lived in the States
for the past twenty years.
It’s been too crazy and it’s not my problem.
I tried to help teaching Buddhism, building
meditation centers, for thirty years.
It helped some, but this is the Kali Yuga,
after all.
This is the time when it’s hardest to hear the truth.
That fact is everywhere apparent, isn’t it?
It’s a good thing that time and space are infinite.
Otherwise, we wouldn’t stand a chance.
