We’re older now…

our booms have lost

most of their pop.

Too many candles on the birthday cake.

We walk slowly because 

time moves too quickly…

it’s cinematic, really.

We have such adventures 

sitting on the porch,

watching walkers, joggers

children, thugs, bullies,

protestors, whatnot.

Something that looks like

a shotgun propped against 

the wall..it’s own mystery.

We know we don’t haven

much to lose, and we know

the best thing left to do is

love, as best you can.
