And So It Goes
Time is running out for us Boomers…
more friends my age are dying now.
With each one, the world I know
diminishes,
becomes a bit less familiar,
half a hologram;
complete, but a little fuzzy.
The world changes a little bit at a time
for a long while, then, suddenly,
it changes all at once, like now.
¨May you live in interesting times.¨
is a Chinese curse.
Does it seem true today?
Kurt Vonnegut had the catch phrase,
¨and so it goes¨. It would punctuate
outrageous events transpiring in his
novels.
¨Ke garne?¨ Hindu, means ¨What to do?¨
¨Ni Modo and ni pedo¨ in Spanish mean
¨It´s nothing really.¨
Everybody knows…
a Big Bang to begin,
then,
the inevitable letting go.
