No Tomorrow

“Is it today again?” (a young boy).

Everyday experience says it all.

Moments strung together like beads

on a necklace, notches on a gun.

Long term memories scars on our brains.

As you get older, the splices between

scenes wear out…there are more gaps.

Thank goodness there are more gaps.

Once the mechanism begins to gear down

there can be simple moments of perception

not founded on anything, clear space.

This is like when we were born.

The middle may have been a muddle.

Things get clear when you’re cornered

by birth or death.
