class illusion of opulence... but
it is nice sitting outside sipping
miso soup on clear plaza, blue
skies and well dressed shoppers
so far removed from holocaust,
war, starvation that occur
simultaneous with each bite of
crispy shrimp...not many frowns
on faces here, unlike the streets,
transparent worry of ordinary lives
branded into their being; no, here
people shop for their future  material
bliss, trusting that their fascination
won't wear out before it's too late.
