My colorful outfit cum costume
hasn’t changed.
At first, they looked at me skeptically,
slightly derisively.
After a while, they began to ignore me.
Later, they began to smile, greet me, as if
I was a fixture in their experience,
a reinforcement of their lives, or else,
they were seeing me for the first time.
