Cafe At The End Of Time Continuation
S’il fair chaud, j’ai un soif.
Eat when hungry, sleep when tired.
Nothing else is any of your business.
If a tree falls in the forest and you don’t hear it,
why get so upset?
There was a letter waiting for me at the post office.
I hadn’t checked my box in months…it had been
posted long ago.
It was from Natricia.
I never thought I’d hear from her again.
It was telling me what her life was like in Spain.
I hadn’t realized she’d moved there.
She said she’d had a boyfriend and a job, but she lost
them both.
She didn’t say that was why she was writing.
Since it had been so long since she wrote the letter
I thought she’d given up on me like before.
I wasn’t sure I should write her, or just let it go.
I had a slight pang of remorse.
It was like all the other pangs I had from time to time.
None of them ever moved me to action.
They lessened as time went on, so I was just waiting
for them all to go away.
The worse my memory got, the easier it was.
I was looking forward to not remembering anything.
I wasn’t looking forward to starting over.
