Empty Mirror

Look into a mirror and imagine you’re not there.

That’s an analogy for enlightenment; pure perception 

without reference to a self.

That’s the mind of the universe, universal mind.

There is only one mind, if we can even say that.

It’s not born and doesn’t die.

We just hitch a ride with it we call our lives.

When we die, it’s just getting off the bus at the last stop,

which is called space.

How we deal with that is a whole different story.

Corollary:

When we argue with someone, what we’re seeing

is our own dirty face in the mirror.
