Taking A Big Lead Off Of First Base

Anticipating the pitcher´s next move,

or, in this case, preparing for death,

the same as reaching second base.

 

Timing is everything, to be ready for the

unanticipated spontaneous moment

when the pitcher lets go,

when the doctor gives the prognosis,

when you take the last step.

 

Having a mind steeped in baseball and

meditation,

in that I got to first base,

second is not just a dream.
